Majestic Consciousness

In the landscape of my mind, a transformation takes place,

As I reshape my thoughts and create a new space.

I have wandered too long through a barren terrain,

Where negative whispers fuel doubt and pain.

But now I stand tall, with resolve in my gaze,

Ready to reshape my mental maze.

I banish the doubts that once held me back,

And use declarations that keep me on track.

Gone is the hesitation, the “I can’t” and “I won’t,”

As I replace them with words that have a positive tone.

I release the grip of negative thinking’s hold,

And stop listening to the stories my thoughts once told.

This is an excerpt from a poem titled Majestic Consciousness in my book Metamorphosis. Maybe it’s the cold and gloomy weather or the New Year that’s got me questioning my future; either way, I really needed to remind myself of this poem today.

Life is uncertain at best; that’s part of its charm. It can be stressful and magical at the same time. I’m in a constant state of wanting to give up yet wanting to push myself to see what might come next. It isn’t easy to let go of negative thoughts, so I’ve been working on changing the stories that play in my head.

Whenever something upsets me, or I feel worried, I look for a different way to frame the situation. If I struggle to see it in a positive light, I distance myself from it until I can gain a new perspective. Once you start digging a hole, it’s easy to keep digging. Take a moment to set the shovel down and ask yourself if this is really what you want to spend your time doing.

Those are my two cents for this week. Life is all about perspective. You can’t control what happens to you, only how you respond.
